Eichler Homes - Ductless Mini Split HVAC
Between 1949 and 1966, Joseph Eichler's company, Eichler Homes, built over 11,000 homes in nine communities in Northern California and homes in three communities in Southern California. Later, other firms worked with Eichler's company to build similar houses. Together, they all came to be known as Eichlers. During this period, Eichler became one of the nation's most influential builders of modern homes. Eichler Homes are known for their unique architectural design, high quality finishes, and beautiful landscapes.
The D-Air Conditioning Company Inc. is proud to be the HVAC specialist for Eichler Homes in California. We have completed the HVAC system for over 50 Eichler Homes and understand the ideal heating and air conditioning solutions for these homes. These houses have special requirements which make them ideal for ductless mini splits. The houses do not have any attic space and therefore cannot use a traditional central air system. Several companies have tried to install package units on the roof of the houses which are not optimal and very unappealing. Most of our Eichler Homes use either a multizone ductless mini split (Mitsubishi, Daikin, or Fujitsu) or a ceiling cassette mini split. We place the outdoor condenser at strategic locations where it will not interfere with the aesthetics of the house. On some projects, we place the condensers on the roof which cannot be seen from below.
Our aim to help you stay comfortable in your Eichler Home while maintaining the unique architecture that makes these homes so beloved and unique. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions you may have. Our staff is happy to answer any and all inquiries in a timely fashion. We look forward to doing business with you!
